January 2017 - TWR Women of Hope / Project Hannah
Dear friends,
As we enter our 20th year of praying together, I wanted to first say thank you for your faithful commitment to prayer over the two decades that God has given us to support and minister to women around the world. Now more than ever, we need to look to Jesus and believe Him to do mighty and marvelous things in these next 365 days.
I believe that with God’s power working in us, God can do much more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
I am so excited to journey with you as we engage women around the world who are hurting and share with them the hope and healing found only in Jesus! With this January prayer letter, you will see quite a few new things – namely our new name! Yes, with God’s leading and the support of TWR global leadership, Project Hannah will transition this year to being known as TWR Women of Hope. During the transition season we will use both names TWR Women of Hope/Project Hannah.
Our new name, TWR Women of Hope, is a blessing for many reasons:
- It brings our global radio program, Women of Hope, into our name to celebrate the 70 languages of women (and men) that we are reaching for Jesus.
- It more closely aligns us with TWR, the powerful radio and digital media ministry by which we are reaching women around the world and across the generations.
- It communicates why we come together in prayer, programming, awareness, leadership development, and giving – so women everywhere can become women of hope!
As we look at this new year, may we continue to lift up the name of Jesus as we pray for women in prison. When I was visiting a women’s prison in Paraguay, I noticed one woman whose eyes reflected the love of Jesus. But as I was sharing my story, we connected in her pain, and it was evident that she needed prayer to persevere in her daily journey with the Lord. Please pray that our sisters in prison have the courage to trust Jesus every day and to believe that they are not forgotten.
To God be the glory as we gather this month in prayer for one another.
