July 2017 - Passion for Jesus in Kenya
Hello, friends! I am back from a special time in Kenya!
Thank you for your prayers while I enjoyed a time of refreshment and ministry with TWR Kenya and the TWR Women of Hope Kenya team.
As part of the visit, I joined our TWR Kenya staff to represent TWR at the Interdenominational Women’s Walk4Peace. I even had the opportunity to meet the first lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta (see picture). Over 5,000 men and women attended the event, and there was much media coverage. For me, it was encouraging to see and to be a part of TWR Women of Hope working with TWR Kenya to minister to women.
Pictured with me above is the TWR Women of Hope Kenya team. Virginia Mania is the national coordinator, Kate and Lynn are Women of Hope producers, Linyah works with social media, and Theresa is the prayer coordinator. As I spent time with our TWR Women of Hope Kenya team, it was good to hear each member’s passion for women and the listener stories from the ministry’s impact.
Currently, TWR Women of Hope broadcasts Swahili programs on four radio stations, and I spoke with TWR Kenya’s executive director about expanding the ministry to include English, which also is an official language of the country. Would you please pray with me that God will raise the funds to broadcast the English Women of Hope program in the cities of in Nairobi and Voi?
I believe God is answering our prayers in Kenya! He is connecting the hearts of women to Jesus and to each other. When I visited some villages in Kenya, the poverty was so great, but the people’s heart for prayer and their passion for Jesus was so rich! On one hand, my heart breaks over the poverty that they experience, but, on the other, I admire their mature faith. Truly inspirational!
Kenya added more passion in my heart to fully believe that we can be women of hope because of who God is!
You all are so dear to my heart, and I’m so thankful for your continued prayer and support of TWR Women of Hope.
