Praying for Victims of Sex Slavery
The statistic of 35.8 million slaves is just a number until you meet one of the victims. Human trafficking and sex-slavery have become worldwide problems that have a devastating impact on girls, women, their families, and their communities. Sexual slavery is a horrific crime against basic human dignity and rights. Routine exposure to this cruelty is likely to twist the minds and attitudes of some boys and men, leading them to view females as property and to treat them worse than animals: Beatings, starvation, druggings, threats, brainwashing, and sexual torture are all too common.
There are now many organizations around the world trying to make everyone aware of the millions of girls and women who are forced into prostitution. Many of them also are providing safe places where these victims can receive help and hope for a better future. Project Hannah joins with the European Freedom Network to use the power of media to bring inner healing and freedom to sexually exploited and trafficked women locked away in brothels and on the streets of European cities and eventually worldwide.
Project Hannah is producing Hidden Treasures, an audio drama that will be stored on handheld devices which will be distributed by various Christian organizations reaching out to sexually exploited women. Using the testimonies of women who formerly worked in prostitution, these audio dramas will tackle sensitive social, physical, psychological, medical, and emotional issues in a nonthreatening, yet professional manner from a Christian perspective. The programs will be designed for the ultimate purpose of introducing Jesus as the Friend, Savior, and Healer and to show women their God-given intrinsic value and purpose.
I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name. Isaiah 45:3
