Praising and Thanking Our Father
How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in him should ponder them. Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty. His righteousness never fails. He causes us to remember his wonderful works. How gracious and merciful is our Lord! Psalm 111:2-4
It is good to reflect on our lives – to take the time to remember – and then praise and thank our Father for what he has done. The psalmist in the verses above says God “causes us to remember his wonderful works.” And what is the psalmist’s response to remembering? He erupts in grateful praise, singing, “How gracious and merciful is our Lord!”
What do you want to praise God for? What memory brings joy and gratitude to your heart when you recall how God stepped in and provided for you? What healing, comfort, love and freedom has God given you?
But our praise is not limited to the blessings God sends our way. Life is often messy and hard as well. In what difficult place do you still find yourself even after prayer, realizing that God remains with you and is your source of hope and peace amid the continued struggle?
This month we are also praising God for what he is doing within our TWR Women of Hope community. Many local teams are taking the exciting step of writing and producing their own program scripts. Prayer groups are ministering to their neighbors, prisoners and those trapped in human trafficking. The seed of God’s Word is being planted and growing in the hearts of listeners!
And so, we join with the psalmist in shouting for joy to the Lord. We praise and thank him because he is our good Creator, who has taken us as his people and is loving us with an everlasting love! (Ps. 100)
