TWR Woman of Hope Updates TWR Women of Hope

In February, TWR Women of Hope hosted two inspiring concerts in Vienna, Austria, to launch Hidden Treasures Season 2—an audio resource created to equip Christian anti-trafficking ministries serving women affected by human trafficking.

We spoke with Pilar Hussmann, Hidden Treasures Program Coordinator, about the heart behind this ministry, the events in Vienna and why the world needs faith-based outreach now more than ever.

What Is Hidden Treasures? A Christian Resource for Anti-Trafficking Ministries

Hidden Treasures is a trauma-informed audio program designed specifically for Christian organizations working with survivors of human trafficking.

“Our audio recordings help ministries reach victims and offer them hope in Christ,” Pilar explains.

Many women who are trafficked were sold as children and never learned to read or write. Audio is not simply an alternative format—it is an essential tool. Through storytelling, Scripture-based encouragement, and original music, Hidden Treasures shares dignity, identity and spiritual restoration in ways survivors can access and understand.

The program is distributed to frontline anti-trafficking partners, who include these recordings in outreach, counselling and community care.

Why Faith-Based Anti-Trafficking Outreach Is Urgently Needed

According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the number of human trafficking victims detected globally rose by about 25% between 2019 and 2022, with significant increases in child trafficking and forced labour cases. Women and girls continue to make up the majority of those identified worldwide.

Human trafficking is one of the most profitable criminal industries in the world, and traffickers increasingly use online platforms and social media to target victims. Christian ministries play a vital role in meeting both the practical and spiritual needs of survivors, bringing healing and hope where despair has taken root.

TWR Women of Hope’s Global Reach

TWR Women of Hope brings hope and healing in Jesus to women around the world and across generations, using prayer, media and discipleship to support women in difficult circumstances.

With more than 110,000 prayer partners in over 125 countries, Women of Hope broadcasts gospel-centered programs in more than 70 languages and dialects. This global network enables programs like Hidden Treasures to serve frontline partners across continents, equipping them to share hope with women who might otherwise go without help.

Vienna Concerts Mark Hidden Treasures Season 2 Launch

The Vienna events were designed with care and purpose:

  • February 13 – A public concert for the Christian community supporting anti-trafficking outreach.

  • February 14 – A private, trauma-sensitive gathering for women currently or formerly affected by trafficking.

The first concert included audio excerpts from Hidden Treasures and live performances of pieces featured in the second series. This was followed by a thoughtful discussion that addressed how Christians can engage in anti-trafficking awareness and support.

At the second concert, the focus was on music only, minimizing content that could be triggering for survivors, as advised by social workers. A shared meal afterward fostered safe, meaningful interaction.

Trauma-Informed Ministry at Work

The journey to produce Hidden Treasures Season 2 was challenging. After extensive development, an unexpected obstacle required the team to restart the project from the ground up.

“God always has the final word,” Pilar shared. “This event represented the victory of His plans for our ministry.”

Although direct testimonies from survivors are often inaccessible for safety reasons, interest in the materials is growing. Anti-trafficking partners are increasingly requesting Hidden Treasures recordings for their outreach work. More personal testimonies are also enriching the content as women who have experienced healing in Christ contribute to future recordings.

A Personal Calling Fulfilled

For Pilar, this work is deeply personal.

“Fifteen years ago, God placed a desire in my heart to support ministry against human trafficking,” she said. “He led me to Women of Hope as a volunteer, and eventually to serve full-time with Hidden Treasures.”

Seeing both the vision and the struggle come together in Vienna was a deeply meaningful moment for her, confirming the calling God placed on her life.
