Indonesia Earthquake and Nepal Flooding Disaster Response Fund

You’re invited to participate with us as we minister to thousands of people affected by recent disasters in Asia. 

First, on Aug. 15, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake shook East Nusa Tenggara, an island chain in southeastern Indonesia. The powerful temblor, along with significant aftershocks, left dozens dead and thousands homeless. 

Then, on Aug. 26, a landslide triggered a massive flash flood that left hundreds dead and many hundreds more missing in Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region. 

TWR’s national partner in Indonesia has responded to the devastating earthquake with emergency aid and by airing Hope Prevails, a 60-episode program developed to encourage survivors of previous disasters in the region with the hope only Jesus can bring.

In Nepal, the TWR Nepal team began broadcasts of counseling and trauma-healing programs on FM stations within reach of the affected area the night after the flood struck. The team members, who are based in the capital city of Kathmandu, were safe, but they knew of listeners, home group participants and volunteers in the affected area. Many in that region lost everything.
