The Horn of Africa comprises countries along the east coast of the continent, such as Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Somalia. There are many unreached people groups, and ministry among them is extremely difficult.
Somalia, for example, ranks second highest out of 50 countries on the 2025 Open Doors World Watch List of countries with the most persecution of Christians. Sudan ranks fifth highest, and Eritrea ranks sixth. There is extreme poverty with no relief in sight amid drought and food shortages.
