Venezuela and Colombia Disaster Relief

Within two months, devastating earthquakes struck the neighboring South American countries of Venezuela (June 24) and Colombia (August 10). Thousands of families have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods. They face uncertainty and loss. They are looking for comfort, reassurance and lasting hope. 

In times such as this, TWR is God’s tool for bringing hope, comfort and biblical encouragement where it is needed most. The Radio Trans Mundial (RTM) teams in Venezuela and Colombia, though shaken themselves by the quakes, quickly mobilized to meet the challenge.  

In Venezuela, they carried boxes of devotionals down 14 flights of steps through their damaged building so they could deliver the booklets to people displaced by the quakes and to rescue workers. In Colombia, they’ve interviewed Christian leaders and medical specialists for programs offering practical and spiritual wisdom. Both teams provided vital information through radio and digital media.
