TWR broadcasts to the people of Sri Lanka, most of them Buddhists, in the Tamil and Sinhala languages. In 2013, God provided a unique opportunity to air Bible teaching and discipleship programs on the national FM radio network that covers the entire country of 22 million people, and more than 200 Bible-study groups have launched.
The Villager of the Upper Field in Sinhala was a program concept formed after the recent economic crisis that left youth and young adults hopeless about the future. The dramatized episodes feature topics from daily life and offer biblical solutions. Other programs include Women of Hope, educational topics for children, and a men’s ministry that is in the works.
